The exhibition Fährten is conceived as a dual experiment: on the one hand, it serves as an archival-artistic inquiry into the relationships between professors and their students; on the other, it offers a multi-sensory experience. Clues, atmospheres, and material traces accumulate, opening up multiple pathways of perception. The choice to create a space of ambiguity—one in which divergences between works become visible and individual readings can unfold—takes precedence over any aspiration to arrive at definitive art-historical statements. At the same time, several works are historically intertwined with the gallery itself; uncovering their stories and tracing their paths is a central aim of the exhibition.
